Aadila Dosani

Aadila is an accomplished actress with extensive experience in bringing stories to life on screen and stage. With a career spanning almost two decades, she has worked with major production companies, networks and streaming platforms including Paramount Plus, The CW, CBS, NBC, ABC, Sundance TV, and Hallmark to name a few.

In the recent past, Aadila has worked on major TV shows derived from established IP. In CW’s Nancy Drew, Aadila played one half of the infamous Bobbsey Twins. On her latest major project by award winning author C.J. Box, Joe Pickett, Aadila played a screen adapted character (based on a couple original characters in the book series), Cricket Ludlow. With a proven track record in bringing iconic characters to life, Aadila has developed a strong understanding of how to balance staying true to the original material while creating engaging, dynamic television. Her expertise in both the creative and logistical aspects of IP-based projects makes her an excellent liaison between IP holders and production companies ensuring that the essence and integrity of the original material are always preserved. With her strong communication skills, ability to align creative goals, and experience navigating the complexities of adaptation, Aadila is
well-equipped to bridge the gap between creative teams and IP stakeholders.

Aadila has not only worked in the Film/TV sector of the industry, she has also been cast in over 100 commercials and international campaigns and has worked on the casting end of the commercial world as well. She has first hand knowledge of what directors,
clients, and agencies are looking for when hiring teams to best represent their products. Working extensively in front and behind the camera in the advertising world has given Aadila such an upper hand in understanding the intricate business/corporate side of the industry. She is fully versed on trends, demographics, and how to tailor content for specific and broad audiences alike. Her extensive knowledge of the entertainment industry and its various sectors gives her a distinct advantage in fostering and driving successful collaborations and partnerships.

Over Aadila’s tenure in the entertainment industry, she has also experienced firsthand the lack of BIPOC representation and the many hurdles artists have had to endure in originally produced content, such as colourism, stereotyping, and limited opportunities for nuanced, authentic roles. She has witnessed how these challenges often result in characters that are either underdeveloped or misrepresented, leading to a lack of diverse perspectives on screen. This has fueled her determination to advocate for more inclusive, equitable representation in storytelling, and she is committed to creating opportunities for BIPOC artists to share their authentic voices.

She is passionate about adapting South Asian novels to the screen because these stories offer rich cultural narratives, diverse perspectives, and complex characters that are often underrepresented in mainstream media. South Asian literature is deeply rooted in history, tradition, and identity, and it presents a unique opportunity to explore themes of family, social change, and personal struggle in ways that resonate universally.
